The Asian Development Bank (ADB), in partnership with Stanford University's Natural Capital Project, will be conducting a three-day training on “Transforming Policy and Investment through Mainstreaming Natural Capital Assessment and Accounting in Projects” on 7–9 November 2023 at the ADB Headquarters in Manila.
This workshop aims to convene technical and policy leaders from developing member countries (DMCs), experts from ADB and multilateral development banks, Stanford’s Natural Capital Project, and other international practitioners to discuss natural capital and its ecosystems; come to a common understanding of innovation and finance solutions as important mechanisms for natural capital conservation; co-develop natural capital approaches and finance solutions that inform policy and investment for people and nature; and further build capacity and community for their implementation.
The three-day workshop builds on the first training workshop, the “Global Forum on Mainstreaming Nature in Decisions,” held last April 2023 at the Stanford University campus, USA.
Objectives
This training aims to:
- enhance awareness and understanding of natural capital approaches;
- strengthen policies; and
- foster sustainable finance solutions in Asia and the Pacific region.
Target participants
Decision-makers, policymakers, and influencers from developing member country governments; and staff of multilateral development banks, development agencies, and academia.
