NatCap Values
Main content start
NatCap envisions a world where all people thrive, where respect is extended not only to individuals but to understanding our various histories and experiences, and the natural and social environments that sustains us. We are committed to transparency and accountability and embrace the wide array of perspectives that can inform and improve our work. We also strive to center the experiences of communities that are particularly impacted by environmental challenges. We are listening, learning, evaluating our own approaches, and working for change.
Specifically:
- We aspire to center local community partners, experts, and stakeholders in our work around the world.
- We aspire to check assumptions that are embedded in our research questions and methods and to expand and deepen our frameworks based on local knowledge and input.
- We aspire to build relationships with local partners that last well beyond our transactional partnerships.
- We aspire to “do no harm” through our partnerships, research, communications, and scholarship.
- We aspire to leave communities and partners in a better place through developing capacity to carry forward their vision.
- We aspire to take accountability by facilitating a process of active listening, learning, and reflecting in all we do.
- We aspire to advocate on behalf of local stakeholders with respect to funding partners.
- We aspire to cultivate a workplace culture that reflects our values.
- We aspire to make our technology and research as accessible to all as possible.
