Claire Simpson

Claire Simpson (she/her) is a Software Engineer for the Natural Capital Project where she contributes to the InVEST software platform. She earned an M.A. in Geography from the University of Colorado, Boulder, where she developed deep learning methods for spatiotemporal vegetation recovery forecasting. She also holds a B.A. in Geography/Environmental Studies, with minors in GIS and Conservation Biology, from the University of California, Los Angeles. In the eight years before Claire joined NatCap, she primarily did geospatial programming, modeling, and analysis for projects at the intersection of data science, remote sensing, and environmental science.
