Postdoctoral Research Associate, University of Minnesota

Sumil Thakrar

Dr. Sumil Thakrar is a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Applied Economics, University of Minnesota. His research seeks to quantify the environmental social costs and benefits of our decisions to inform sustainable development. This work relies on the development and integration of biophysical and economic models that simulate the environmental consequences of our decisions. In particular, Dr. Thakrar's work connects air quality, which is the most important environmental health risk, to broader environmental policy challenges in agriculture, land use, and food systems, where air quality health effects are a large and often overlooked social cost.
