Nicholas Hendershot
Nicholas Hendershot (he/him/his) is a postdoctoral research in the Department of Biology, the Stanford Center for Conservation Biology and the Natural Capital Project. Nick’s research focuses on understanding how climate and land use change impact biodiversity in the tropics. To do this, his recent work has focused on developing a modelling framework that combines field-based biodiversity monitoring with remotely sensed climate information to quantify the conservation value of alternative agricultural practices in Central America. In addition, Nick is working to combine mechanistic modelling of wildlife populations with the predictive power of artificial intelligence to identify and quantify drivers of biodiversity loss across large spatial scales.
